CJ Taylor in Quebec
My “Book Week” took me to Quebec, Montreal area. This is home for me, where my career as an artist and writer began. My visits took me to many schools and libraries I have enjoyed presenting to in the past. It is nice to be remembered by both students and teachers.
The first stop was a more rural area, Ormstown, where I presented to three schools, about three hundred students and teachers. My second day took me to Montreal where I did three presentations, two at private schools and Westmount Library, a place very dear to me as it is where I first exhibited my art.
My third day I visited Montreal Children's Library. There I presented to a group of preschoolers and their guardians. What a wonderful audience. Then I was off to Kells Academy, where I was the "reward" speaker for a completed project by the students. The next day there was four presentations on my schedule – about two hundred fifty students and teachers!
The last day of my journey took me to Pierrefonds Library. This was a smaller group of home schooled, very interesting session for all. My last stop was at Dawson College presenting to their Design & Illustration Department. This gave me the opportunity to speak with older students, something I love to do.
It was a great ending to a wonderful tour… Thank you to all that made it possible.
