TD Canadian Children’s Book Week will run from Saturday, May 4 to Saturday, May 11, 2013. Thirty English-speaking authors, illustrators and storytellers will visit schools, libraries, bookstores and community centres in every province and territory across the country.Learn More

If your school, library, bookstore or community centre is interested in hosting a Book Week author, illustrator or storyteller, please complete the online application form. The deadline for applications is December 15, 2012. Learn More

Book Week Theme

The theme of TD Canadian Children’s Book Week 2013 is All the Bookshelf’s a Stage: Celebrating the Performing Arts. Music, plays, dance, drama/theatre and singing are all wonderful ways for youth to express their creativity. Our theme will focus on books that showcase different forms of performance art and how the performing arts can enrich the lives of young people.

Book Week Materials

Our Book Week materials will help you celebrate great Canadian children’s books and the performing arts! Book Week Writing Contest

Young writers, in grades 4 to 12, are invited to submit their stories and/or poems to the Book Week 2013 Writing Contest for Kids & Teens. Judging is done by noted writers from across Canada and one winner from each grade will receive a $250 gift certificate for the bookstore of his or her choice. Two honourable mentions from each grade category will also receive $50 gift certificates. The deadline for submissions is February 1, 2013.
